the virus will never be gone from the world, however the amount of infected people can be suppressed greatly, like with influenza.
I believe that with the current rate of vaccine mass production / mass inoculation society will be safe enough to reopen by may, but it will probably only be reopened in june to completely stomp out the disease.
So another five months of this, at least
