An interesting thing to try is the feynman counting trick where you count in your head until a timer goes off at 1 min. Then you practice repeating that counting to the number for 1 min so you can stop a stopwatch at the correct time. Then try doing different activities as you count. Some people encode that counting verbally so they can't speak, some as words so they can't ready some somatically so they can't do the dishes or walk around, etc. Then practice trying to switch thinking modes.
