Just look at the Lenski experiments. 60 000 - 70 000 generations in, and only one evolutionary novum has apeared. (the ability to absorbe and metabolise citric acid) And thats in bacteria, with one day containing 4.6 generations, with populations in the billions. Imagine then, how long it would take with chimps, where one generation is multiple decades, and populations are small. Evolution takes time. But dont worry, those crazy chinese mother fuckers are putting human speech related genes in chimps. That will turn out well im sure.
