There is a serious problem with much of our scientific research. Increasingly, many ‘well-established facts’ are coming into question. Despite the original data sets and studies indicating the validity of certain findings, subsequent attempts to replicate these results are FAILING. Drugs, originally hailed as offering dramatic improvements in patients’ symptoms, seem to have lost their power; cardiac stents to Vitamin E treatments appear to be waning in their effectiveness; the efficacy of some antidepressants appears to have declined threefold in recent decades. Studies are losing their truth and claims that have been enshrined in textbooks are unprovable. It’s occurring across a wide range of fields, from psychology to ecology. This is the replication crisis. Normies love to hail STUDIES and SCIENCE. Studies that are not randomly controlled, studies that cannot be replicated and science that cannot be tested nor proven. If scientific tests cannot be replicated then why should we believe untested claims just because some SCIENTIST makes a claim? To fix this I propose that anything that cannot be tested and replicated be classified as unproven and removed from primary school textbooks. If normies have blind faith in science then the standards need to be higher.
