just a reminder for people wanting to get into semiconductor theory: the so called ""conventional current model"" is so horrible that you need a lot of UNNECESSARY mental gymnastics and unnecessary equations and/or unnecessary "rules of thumbs" to fill the blanks of a bad framework/theory, just go back to basics to the "older" way of understanding (the CORRECT way!!!) even the concept of transconductance became awkward when they introduced this backwards semiconductor theory because everything now has to fit into it...
to "pull" electrons from the EMITTER you need a positive voltage on the base and COLLECTOR, NOT the other way around!!!!!!! (you only need to accomodate for PNP or NPN type of construction but still follow the same old and trusted basic rule of electron behaviour)
I wish I could punch this ""experts"" that decided to change true electron theory for this garbage
