Companies right now are training AI with the internet and likely will never need to pay people for the images, videos, and text used to build them.

but can i use video footage that i recorded while picking up garbage outside and inside our company property for ai training. If i base my models of internet and video that i took myself....i dont want my current employer to come back to me in 10 yrs suing me for all the money that my ai made beacause it was trained on footage that was taken on my employers property and during my work day

Your employer should fire you for being illiterate
As for your problem, go read your employment contract. Most contracts will contain a section regarding ownership of intellectual property.

Look into the terms of your job contract. If it mentions anything about stuff done on on comoany time being company property, then maybe. Just don't release your training data publicly and you'll be fine.

looks like you're going to have to risk it, >>12619373 is the smartest post so far
on the plus side, if they do sue and take all your moneys, you can build a killdozer version of a garbage truck and go run over the whole garbage truck headquarters
