It isn't the case that psychology, sociology, etc. are built off physics. Rather they're in totally different domains of knowledge which use different practices.
I recommend a Venn diagram with the three methods representing the three circles. then, for funsies, include an outer ring across the entire venn diagram representing fringe investigations. Pseudoscience is fringe empiricism, mysticism and religiosity are fringe phenomenology, while economics and social sciences are fringe empiricism. Feminism for example would be fringe empiricism+phenomenology.
