>>12619111alright, it looks like no one here has actually studied in china, not surprising, but i'll share my experiences
im attending a chinese uni right now (but stuck in america)
where in china are you going exactly? the city will make a difference
even if you won a scholarship, the chinese have blocked all foreigners except for south koreans from getting visas, so it's literally impossible to get in, i'm basically hoping that things will open up by spring semester 2022
to be quite honest, i liked china alot better than america, as long as you study in a decent tier 1-1.5 city, life is pretty comfy
obviously, most chinese schools can't hold a candle academically to american schools, but the quality of life is better imo
most 1.5 cities have decent public transport, you can use wechat/alipay to pay for everything, didi is cheap as fuck, taobao/jd is EXTREMELY convenient, everything arrives in max 3 days
i basically didn't even moderate my spending at all and still spent like.. 400-500 a month including rent
china really becomes good once you know chinese, and it's not really that hard, the people open up alot if you try to speak it, the girls are generally nice and kind too
and desu there is just more shit to do in china than in america
the thing about race..... is kinda true ngl, if you try to speak chinese most of them will be really nice, but white people will kinda always be treated better
>>12619146if you can pass for white it's fine
>>12619297yeah it's true alot of chinese students cheat lol
