>>12618130You also mentioned gram staining bacteria. Bacteriology takes a bit more effort, but it can be done at home. Youll need glass petri dishes, which cost about a dollar a pop, an incubation loop (3 dollars), a spirit burner (7 dollars) and youll ned one or two larger erlenmayer flasks for making your media (also a couple dollars, maybe 3 or 4). You will also need media, tha basic is meat extract, peptone and bacteriologickal agar. These are a bit more expensive 500 grams will cost you about 30 dollars, but that will last you for years. You also probably need an autoclave and an incubator, these can be prohibitively expensive, but you can source them easely with a bit of creativity. A decent preassure cooker can be used as an autoclave, that costs about 100 dollars, and you can build your own incubator for about 50 dollars. The thought emporium has a decent build video on this on youtube calld Building a Heatblock and Incubator. I built all this and it cost me a total of abot 200-250 dollars (euros cause im european but whatever). I would link you a guide on bacteriology, but all my class material is in hungarian, which i doubt you can read, but im sure you can find stuff on google, or you can ask questions here.
pic relatid is one i took, its sexual reproduction (conjugation) between house making soil amoeba.
