If they were a hoax, why did the Soviet Union raise no objection?
If they were real, why haven't we gone back since then? The American government spends literally endless money on all sorts of useless shit, so budgetary considerations don't seem to be an element.
Why is China only planning a manned mission for the 2030s at least? If the Americans could do it repeatedly 50 years ago, surely one of the world's foremost scientific powers should have no problem replicating it now?
