In the military, females are chosen at absurdly high rates for positions if you're comparing the average male to the average female. They don't have higher qualifications, they don't have higher PT scores, nor asvab scores, they don't work harder, but NCOs and low ranking officers will pick random junior enlisted females to lead just about anything so they can avoid accusations of sexism.
To be honest, nobody cares since it's always something trivial they're leading. It's just a really bad precedent to set in case you actually needed competent people.
