How do you drink water?

I live in LA and use up at least 5 water bottles a day that end up next to my desk or floor, then the landfill.

Is getting a water pitcher filter worth it? I'm still drinking LA tap water does the filter do that much for me?

I don't think you are really solving your problem there. Aren't the water bottles plastic?
I'd go with activated charcoal filter if you are worried about things leaching from plastic
also, most of these filters look like they are made of polycarbonate, which is the worst offender when it comes to things like BPA leeching out of it
get one made of glass or stainless steel

Live in Kyiv, never drank tap water, because it is full of heavy metals from old pipes, and it is poorly filtered in the first place. I order several 18.9L bottles per week and use a small pump to drink it.

If you don't want to pay for expensive filters, consider my option, if you have it available.

I live in LA as well. Just get one of these filters, it will at least help you cut down on plastic waste. A nice reusable bottle has much more capacity too and can keep the water colder for longer.

I drink bottled water. That's my point, even if I buy a zero water filter I am still drinking filtered LA water...

This seems like best option. Despite the pain of buying and hauling huge ass bottles.
