I swear to god, having a selective phobia sucks twice as hard as having a regular phobia.
>Have trypanophobia
>being anywhere near a hypodermic needle/traditional syringe causes severe panic attacks
>reacts violently(literally) to any attempt to stick me without days of prep and emotional support and distraction
>no reaction at all to injectors(diabetes shots, epi pens, etc)
>no fear at all to the very same traditional syringe when it's specifically used for dental anesthetic
At least when you have a regular phobia you're consistent and don't have to explain in-depth why you can handle one instance of X but not another.
Anyone else suffering from this type of stupid irregular mental disabilities?
How common is this?
