How can the expansion of the universe be ACCELERATING? That seems impossible to me. Nothing can accelerate indefinitely. Let's say an object is accelerating at 1G in space. On the cosmic scale, it wouldn't take long at all to reach the speed of light. This is true for any object that is accelerating. The speed of light should easily be reached for any acceleration on the timescales of the universe?
