ARGUMENTS FOR MINIMUM WAGE
1. higher velocity of low-income earners -> higher demand -> job creation
2. lower social costs -> social assistance, crime, policing, judicial
3. redistribution (better to be in wages than taxes)
ARGUMENTS FOR RAISING MINIMUM WAGE:
1. it's the right thing to do - says who?
2. minimum wage doesn't keep pace with inflation - who says it should? should costs keep pace with the rate of inflation - should companies be obligated by law not to raise costs by more than the rate of inflation?
