I'll give you a secret. Being a "genius" is all about descending down the path of pure delusions and making it back a few hours later without falling for any of the delusions.
Think of it like this. Imagine that you're a neural network and you got stuck at a local minimum. It's an ok answer but there's a better one. To get out of that local minimum you must overshoot into complete retardation, then navigate across that retardation for a bit until you find the new minimum. It's something like that. Most people are too afraid of doing it because they lack the experience of navigating across the landscape of delusions, as they've never done it in their simple lives, and once they crawl out of their local minimum just slightly the realization that what they're thinking is delusional and above their level hits them and they fall right back in, overwhelmed by the complexity of the subject and the fear of challenging it. The gravity of their insistence to not be a delusional nerd makes them stuck perpetually in the same basic mental state that does not think about anything higher than immediate environment.

And it's all like this for a reason. If it was obvious and you didn't have to do this, you'd probably already know it without any extra effort. The knowledge that requires effort also requires you to navigate across the uncharted surface of delusion until you hit the tiny undiscovered answer that's not the delusion. "Genius" or "high IQ" or however you want to call it, is the ability of doing that without turning into a schizo who thinks that he's solved the RH. There's nothing special with genius thoughts when you realize what they actually boil down to - balls to be delusional for a bit and a lot of luck to not have wasted your time chasing dead-end delusions.

not crazy behavior, just the something that normally happens when you can't get your brain to stop thinking about things, especially abstract things detached from reality. I completely forget lots of things that occur in social interactions even if I was paying attention and engaged when the thing occurred (sometimes I just space out completely). it drives people crazy and i get made fun of for it but its completely rational behavior that could be changed with enough mental effort and more socialization.

This pretty much sums up interaction about complex subjects with peers for me.
When handling a subject, to me it's not a question of right and wrong.
I have multiple thesis, of which 9 of 10 are probably wrong and maybe even delusional.
If I speak about the 1 truth, it's rational to everyone.
Everyone can understand the truth, because it is logical.
But to get to that truth I NEED to discuss my delusions.
The moment I do this however, I'm contraversial and discussion's ended.
