>>12594018>>12594066>umm you aren't using the kubernetes kafka kibana grafana copacabana pipeline? You aren't a real data scientist! I've been in the industry a long time, and seen hundreds of people like you come and go. Typically fresh grads, someone will come in obsessed with the tools they learned and what's "best". Inevitably they build some sprawling backend, refactor something that exists into some other technology for no clear reason, and ultimately show some flashy thing that looks cool to a program manager while it works for about 5 minutes. Inevitably, the backend which is loaded with dependencies and copypasted code which this person doesn't actually understand, starts falling apart. Instead of doing any data science, this person is constantly bugfixing, getting 2am calls when services go down that are consumed by actual engineers, and ultimately never does anything but try to fix their own tools which did not solve any problem in the first place. I just laugh as I continue to do real data science with excel, notepad, and simple scripting tools while watching these people burn out and go back for another degree because "data science was a meme."
