For two I have a ton of flexibility, can work whenever I want as long as I get results, I'm my own boss and have lots of creative and academic freedom. In practice I probably only really work about 20 hours a week but get full time salaried pay.
I get to travel a lot for free to go to conferences, and maintain valued friendships and collegiate relationships with interesting people all over the world.
And also my work is actually fun and interesting and satisfying, and I don't have to do dumb boring shit for half my waking life.
Can't say I'd make a different decision if I had another chance
