Guys please help me understand this. I seriously need help trying to understand this. I was told this was true and I want to really believe it.
But like what does it even mean?
I seriously think this is one of the MOST complex statements ever.
So, I was eating peas. And I was like damn that's a lot of peas. there's like at least more than 3. But I only have ONE group of peas. So I thought about a 1 unit long line and called it 1. Well one is made of smaller parts. I know that the sum of the series 1/2^n is one. So those part make up one. So I thought about breaking the line into those smaller parts, but there is infinite of them.
But I noticed all those fractions had series to define them and those and those and so one.
The fractions started getting very small.
At a certain point they become zero. but 0 + 0 = 0. So I was left with 1 = 0. but this isn't true!
So I started to think what is one? WTF??!! WHAT THE FUCK IS ONE???? Well I guess in a weird way 1 is a unit, it's single most and whole such that it's unitary. If I cut a car in half well now it's parts comprise the unit, each part isn't the whole. If I have two cars it's not one car.
So what if I had 1 zero through? if I cut it in half it's still a unit zero, if I add a billion it's still a unit zero. but that means in this case 0 = 1.
wtf?
WHICH AXIOM WILL RESOLVE THIS? PLEASE I JUST WANT TO BLINDLY OBEY SOMETHING THAT WILL MAKE ME FEEL BETTER. PELASE HELP ME /SCI/.
