>>12593667>>12585535How come people like you support "mask mandates" and mandatory vaccines, but you do not support holding our leader accountable for lying about (1) the transmissibility of COVID, (2) the severity of COVID, (3) the efficacy of masks, and (4) the origin of the virus?
Back in February public health officials were literally claiming that (1) covid was not transmissible from human-to-human, (2) that masks are ineffective (this is obvious bullshit to anyone who has ever done any computational modeling in literally any of the physical, social, or biological sciences), and (3) that "Far-right" xenophobes were spreading fear and disinformation about COVID primarily for the purpose of smearing China. Nancy pelosi even gave a speech in late February URGING the public to continue shopping, to not wear masks, and to not buy into "anti-Chinese" hysteria. In fact, there is even some evidence that corporate America and the political establishment were trying to downplay the issue so that political and financial elites could engage in inside trading before the public realized what was going, because this would of course lead to an financial correction and downturn (e.g. Feinstein's insider trading).
In other words, why are you more interested in using the legal system to hold working class people accountable, but not political and financial elites? How come you guys are pushing to arrest/fine ordinary citizens for, e.g. failing to wear a mask, but you aren't passionately campaigning to hold people like Pelosi, the WHO, or Trump accountable.
These elites and political leaders have objectively caused more harm to the public than ordinary anti-masker. If an individual refuses to wear a mask, they might affect their friends or relatives, but they're not going to impact the entire country. However, when people like Pelosi or Trump lie about the virus and masks, and literally tell the entire country to go about their normal business, they are impacting millions.
