which is why we had fire to fend ourselves off from predators. there's a theory that because of that, early humans were able to receive much more REM sleep (the one that makes your body go limp) than when we were in the trees. REM sleep mediates social skills and other things related to that.

What is the evolutionary purpose of restarting a computer? Surely it can use its memory and CPU to its full capacity indefinitely, you never have to format your disks, delete old files, let your computer cool down when it overheats, etc. etc. etc.
