How are you approaching the problems anon? Most people start following through with the first method they can think of solving the problem and kinda get anchored to it even if it doesn't work. Try playing around with the problems first and see if you gain any additional insight, write down anything interesting you notice and from there think up a list of possible ways to approach the problem, then go through each approach to see if you get anywhere.
