Using more than two decades of data from measurement towers in every major biome across the globe, the team identified a critical temperature tipping point beyond which plants' ability to capture and store atmospheric carbon—a cumulative effect referred to as the "land carbon sink"—decreases as temperatures continue to rise.
We're making no headway against the problem. In my family I have boomer parents that show zero awareness of or responsibility for their way of life which includes unnecessary trips and cruise vacations.
Additionally, a large and somewhat decentralized organized opposition has formed that denies global warming is real. They seem willing to let my boomer parents go on cruises and take unnecessary trips even though it condemns their grandchildren to runaway global warming.
