Him running for president is easily one of his biggest mistakes since he went from having probably about 60-70% of america liking him to only 35%, he lost tons of money, only president to get impeched twice, only got one term while obama and bush got two, destroyed the friendships he had with other rich people and constantly gets called out by Howard Stern someone that Trump called a "good friend". He destroyed most of his legacy by going into politics, he lost the good will he had and his money.
