Why are mechs still science fiction? Metal Gear Rex is a walking tank that can launch nuclear warheads using a rail gun. Autocannons exist. Anti tank missiles exist. The high watt laser doesn't exist. Engineers please explain why mechs can't exist.

Your mech is useless when it presses the ground so hard it falls into a sinkhole.
The amount of weight to make a giant mech impervious to most fire that it'd be useful would be insane. An M1 Abrams already weighs 134,000 pounds. A mech like you describe would be easily triple that. Imagine 500,000 lbs distributed to two "feet" in a 10x10 square. Even a 20x20' square.

If you discover Gundanium you might have a chance.

the railgun nuke actually makes a lot of sense, but a railgun submarine or a railgun tank are much more sensible options that a dinosaur-shaped gundam. Reminder that this thing is supposed to be able to "infiltrate enemy territory"

because mecha legs as cool as they looks, they cost way too much in money and power, wheels or caterpilars are more efficient, somewhat easy to build and replace, and are more power effective

Nonsense, it just needs wider feet, like elephants or dinosaurs. You are exaggerating.
Mechs are just mechanically complicated, theres nothing easier in mechanics than to generate rotational motion, a tank is a motor with a transmission inside a steel box with a hole for a gun.
I think they are useless but should still be made and sold to saudi arabia for 500 million an unit.

It's cheaper to put those guns on tanks. Also, airplanes and helicopters would rape mecha just as they rape tanks.
Another reason is that legs are more difficult to get working than treads. We've made strides in the field of robotics, but still need more work to be done. Once we can get proper exoskeletons up and running you might see some mecha for industrial purposes. But big armor pieces are on their way out due to airpower anyway.
