One of the larger tech companies in my area has a habit of hiring students, sometimes even high school grads, with some STEM expirence, train them, and get them working at a lower (though not a terrible) wage than what an experienced college grad would expect. My dad has a friend who is a manager there and I basically got a referral from for a certain job and have an interview scheduled soon, so there's a very real chance I could have a full time job lined up within the coming months.
I'm in school right now, but I'd be expected to work 12 hour days 3/4 times a week, and I'm not sure if I'd be able to or want to keep up with my studies at that point, so if I were to get the job, I'm not sure if I would want to finish my education. Some people have warned me that dropping out will basically trap me with that employer, and make it difficult to find work elsewhere, and I'm wondering if any of you guys have expirenced something similar and where you are now career wise?
