Evolution does not look at your gunky nose "hmm, that's inconvenient, I better change that for the next generation", that's a complete misunderstanding of how any of this works.
For it to be selected away it pretty much needs to affect your chances of breeding or your ability to care for your offspring.
Is how gunked up their nose becomes when they get a cold a factor when you look for a potential partner? Does it affect your ability to breed or take care of a child in any significant way?
