There's a glacial lake in Antarctica and it has organisms that are isolated from the outer world for 15 million years. What do anons think about that? Could there be new species that we dont discovered yet?

15 million years ago antarctic was still a mostly inhospitable place based on current tectonic understanding so probably not anything cool and big. But maybe some neat little abyss-style organisms and a bunch of potential phages that'll kill us all. Does anyone know if the ice sheets are adding pressure to the lake itself? I'd be interested in what sort of organisms are swimming around a black void without the crushing pressure of the deep ocean on top of them.

The ice moves slowly over the lake. Probably it takes some minerals and sediments from the solid ground around the lake with it and some of it melts into the lake.
