Since photosystem 1 passes an electron down an electron transport chain shouldn't it also make ATP as well as NADPH.

I understand that Photosystem 2 is moreso responsible for ATP production but ATP is surely also a product of the Photosystem 1 as well if an electron is gonna fall through a transport chain.

The photo says that PS1 produces NADPH.

It excludes the fact that ATP is produced in PS2.

It's clear from the photo that NADPH is used as an energy source in ATP synthesis.

Both PS2 and PS1 have their own respective electron transport chains.

The PS1 electron transport chain lies between Ferredoxin and PS1. My question was regarding ATP synthesis between those two particular points.

It looks like PS1 doesn't really produce ATP or NADPH by itself.
The role of PS1 is to get a quantum of energy and exciting an electron using that energy. Then the charged electron travels to FNR which uses it to produce NADPH.

I don't see ATP being produced by PS2, just the NADPH. If you are referring to the ATP synthase, I imagine its excluded from what's produced during PS2 cycle because its the chemical gradient that produces ATP, not the reaction itself. There's a buildup of H+ in the lumen, and that gradient drives production, but I don't think I'd necessarily say it produces ATP for the very fact that one cycle of PS2 does not equal one ATP in the exact way it produced NADPH; you can imagine a scenario where you don't have a buildup of H+ in the lumen, a H+ is produced, and no ATP is produced because the gradient isn't there. It's just a random H+ in the lumen. Meanwhile one NAPDH MUST be produced during the PS2 cycle.

It looks here like no H+ is produced during the electron transport chain with PS1, so no gradient of H+ is produced, so no ATP synthase action occurs.
That is, PS2 produces the H+, and its this buildup of H+ that drives the ATP sythase to produce ATP.
PS1 doesn't generate an H+. Certainly its a step in the reaction, but you could imagine cutting the PS2 off from the PS1, and the PS2 would still generate H+, but the PS1 would not by itself.
