Is the height of mothers heritable? this might seem retarded, but to expand on what's confusing me, I have come across news articles talking about the ideal height of a woman for attractiveness. ideal height is shorter than average. and often you will see tall guys with short girlfriends. I read one news article that the tallest guys actually marry the shortest girls, and that they have the happiest marriages.
Wouldn't this cancel out height differences across society? Or am I missing something? e.g. maybe a mother's height isn't heritable by the offspring, or maybe the height of the son is determined by the height of the father and height of the daughter determined by the mother.
