>>12566228you're intentionally missing the point. The english system groups things using numbers that have multiple divisors. you can divide 1 foot into halves, fourths, thirds, and sixths. With the meter you can only divide into 2 5 10 etc, and it's obsolete since nobody does this math on their fingers and toes anymore.
the meter itself is a known erroneous calculation based on earth measurements, and they knew it at the time they published it.
The inch is just as scientific as the meter is, since the inch can be defined as 500 millionth of the diameter of the earth - with the same error rate as used to calculate the meter
