EEVblog says a lot of the things i wanted to say. The logistics and efficiency requirements would not hold up to begin with. Future tech for retards who like reading comic books. Even if you put these in parks for weights of multiple people and impact, the power losses and maintenance (assuming no accidents) is still way too high.
Solar panels on the sides of elevated highways with shock absorbers as stupid as it sounds, would work better than this, even with all of the thermal and cleaning problems.

Assuming they want to put it on the roads/highways, its much better to do it as a highway "roof" so not only would it protect the solar panels/infrastructure, it would also increase lifespan of the highway roads by reducing the range of road heat creating cracks leading to less maintenance and cost savings.

Ofcourse parking space roofs/home solar roofs/mall roof solars/etc have their places as well.

But that's bullshit. Crops are heavily dependent on solar power. If you cover 80% of a field in solar panels you will loose more than 20% of the yields in that field.

Probably. I mean it makes sense if you think about it, things like greenhouses increase yields despite blocking out some of the sun because the limiting factor isn't (typically) the sunlight but various things like nutrients. In some hot climates I think the shade itself might even boost productivity somewhat if you use something like wheat which isn't fully adapted for those conditions. I'm pretty sure the image is at least right in spirit (e.g. you could get increased total benefit by doing this) if wrong in the actual magnitude of the effect. Solar panels already don't cover 100% of the ground from all angles so I can see that spacing them out bit more than usual would allow crops to be grown underneath. That being said it would be a nightmare for logistical reasons like harvesting the crops so it's a really dumb idea even if the actual numbers were fully factual. It's the same reason why solar roadways is such a dumb idea. Yes you could probably get some marginal benefit out of it but there are just thousands of better places to put solar panels in like roofs, empty or otherwise unusable lands (deserts anyone?) or even just making covers for roads or parking lots and putting the panels there.

Really dumb idea because of the wear and tear on the solar panel due to big ass trucks driving on them with 5000 lb loads thousands of times per day. Solar panel shingles makes a lot more sense since people have to install new shingles all the time anyways, so that's when people can be convinced to install longer-lasting solar shingles which pay for themselves. The mixed use solar panel and farmland looks like a good idea, but they would have problems harvesting the wheat, and the infrastructure for the solar panels might be too expensive - ie land might be cheaper than this option.
