Why are doctors handing out antidepressants and ADHD meds so much nowadays? Are people really experiencing disorders to this extent or are doctors just giving them out because of mild symptoms? Are pharma companies behind this?

Because SSRIs are memes that are mostly placebo. Genuinely depressed patients, provided they are smart enough to follow dietary and drug interaction guidelines, are given MAOIs by experts in psychopharma.

It’s because school is designed to get kids out of their parents way and is otherwise very mentally unhealthy.
Combine that with the mental health problems exposure to closed source software and especially mobile apps cause (there are studies, look it up) and you have a serious problem.

Because it's impossible to fix most peoples depression because it generally needs major effort and life style changes from that person, who is too lazy and unmotivated to actually do it (Which isnt from the depression like they always claim)
