Is that all there's to chess? Learning the guiding principles and playing a shit ton of games until you develop some sort of natural intuition?
It doesn't seem feasible to me studying openings, mid games and endgames since there are literally more possible chess games than there are atoms in our bodies.
Does IQ come into play as well? Are there dumb top tier players?
