It's not much. But it's observable at intergalactice distances. And it's increasing, which is really weird.
This is happening everywhere, constantly and the extra space gets inserted evenly.
We THINK the expansion of space is uniform. As in, there's equal amounts of new space to the left as to the right and everywhere... but we're not sure. At the very least, it's pretty uniform from all the galaxies and their apparent motion.
