"Balancing" possible future injustices by gene edited babies

I just had a really stupid random thought about a possible solution to the problem gene edited ultimate being Chad Chang babies with 400 IQ in the future.
I think it would be reasonable if equal efforts were made in the development of methods for modifying and improving the brains/bodies of already grown adults.
In the case of the brain, perhaps develop methods to more safely modify the grey/white matter ratio in desired portions of the brain, since this seems like one of the major reasons that differenciates between extremely gifted people and "normal" folks. Preferably by non invasive methods.
About the rest of the body we could maybe mix localized transplants of multipotent stem cells in order to modify and/or enhance the targe tissue. You could add this with some success to those height enhancement procedures manlets make, I imagine.
How far fetched do you such reality could be ? I mean, a post birth enhanced person may not exactly compete toe to toe with the gene edited Chad but there could be at least some leverage in this scenario.
