TL;DR
The composite numbers form a pattern when plotted on an x & y axis, and the primes are simply the gaps within the composite pattern; however, the composite pattern is subject to scale and becomes more diffuse as we travel down the number-line until it appears like white noise. The pattern of the composites is still there now "defragging" the pattern takes significant computer; HOWEVER, we can use computation to transform the composite pattern by a scale factor, which allows us to jump to any position within the number line in only one calculation.
