7 and 0 shouldnt be two fucking syllables, 7 should be "sept" and 0 should be "ought" so single digit numbers are monosyllabic. There is no good reason the fundamental basis of math needs to have any symbols that slow down speaking them any more than anything else. Imagine if a few relative nouns (you, we, they,) were bisyllabic. Trick question, old English added "eth" to past tense relative nouns (I'm pretty sure im not a language major or anything). Geuss what? Speaking in old English sound really fucking cluttered to express the same ideas.
