Then why were pneumonia deaths for 2020 exceptional compared to previous years? You don't need a positive test to diagnose pneumonia as the cause of death. There were weeks during 2020 when pneumonia deaths exceeded 10k per week. In the previous four years, there wasn't a single week that exceeded 7k pneumonia deaths. In 2020, there were 19 weeks with 6k+ pneumonia deaths, and only 4 such weeks in the previous four years combined.

No. The flu only kills somewhere between 300-1000 people a year. Those numbers are from the flu plus pneumonia. Flu rarely tops 1000 while pneumonia kills in the tens of thousands.

CDC flu deaths always include pneumonia deaths as well. And I covered some things about pneumonia here >>12548431. I don't know where this bullshit has come from that pneumonia deaths were down in 2020, but I've seen it a lot here, and it's completely false.
