I got pretty good at allnighters. I wouldn't suggest it though, because adequate rest is just as important as familiarity with the material. However, if it can't be helped, cram as much as you can with whatever shut eye you can get (even if it's only for a few hours). Got me thru uni with a 3.96 gpa

Easy.
First do a cursory overview of previous years exams to get an understanding of how you feel about the subjects and how complex they are.

Then pack some sandwhiches and some coffee and leave your home with the textbooks for the subjects. Leave your mobile phone behind and go to some nice library and sit down and read the relevant chapters of the books. Maybe skim them at first to get a feel for which chapter you already understand and which you need to focus on.

I finished medschool despite only starting to study for exams 2-4 days before. Sure I hated myself and my grades weren't good, and the school relied quite heavily on single and multiple choice formatted questions, but I did it, you can too especially with so much more time available.

Your biggest danger is being distracted by the internet. So leave your phone behind, and your computer behind, and your home too.

You can manage on 6 hours of sleep if you absolutely need it but less than that and you're just hurting yourself.

Anon, I say this as a friend: stop looking for validation online and make a plan. Figure out how much time you have before exams, the format of the exams, and the content of the exams. Write it down. Allocate the time you have (ideally spaced repitition; e.g. if you have 16 hours do four one-hour sessions for each). If some classes are more important than others, give them more time. They syllabi are going to be your best friends.

As for sleep, you can't run on less than about 5.5 a night for more than a week (w/ retention), but you can live off 4 for a few days. get 7+ if you can the two days before the test. IMO the amount of sleep you get two nights before the exam is more important than the amount you get the night before.

back when i studied STEM i had all my exams (usually 4-5) in either january or june

i did the exact same thing as you and wouldn't start studying 2 weeks before the first exam

i wouldn't recommend doing it though, since it fucking sucks during the exam month

i graduated with a gpa of 3.21

I had a written final for a pchem exam i worked for about 4 or 5 hours on before, then spent 10 hours working on before giving up on what I couldn't answer. Its small time but it made me want to never cram for the rest of my life.

Depends. Yeah, you have to be good at math in general but most importantly you have to get the gist of the subject. Every topic has a gist, for example, chemistry is all about knowing which bonds are the weakest because those are the ones that break more easily in a reaction to make way for other elements, in diffyQs all you have to remember is that derivatives are very small quotients, the list goes on.

In my case, once you think about gases as a shit ton of balls connected by springs moving around you're golden because if you know the basics of classical mechanics and get a bit creative then you can picture any scenario and get a near perfect approximation of what's happening. All in all, my grasp of math was useful but not as useful as getting the gist.

I read like 80% of an entire stratigraphy textbook once before the final exam, the first 25% i had already read so I just skipped it, this was the night before the exam and the morning of the exam, aced the final and got a C- in the course, I was happy afterwords.

Recently graduated medfag here with experience in engineering and agree that there is a scarcity of individuals in medicine who even strive to understand fundamental scientific principles. Had to leave a week early for an internship. The exams were brutal and I had to finish up my capstone research projects for them at the same time. Luckily they let me do everything early but I spent a solid two and a half weeks pulling 16 hour workdays to get everything finished and studied for the exams. Did meh in the end. Passed the classes and got alright grades.

Allnighters are a trap don't so them. Get your sleep and make sure to drink water and eat properly. If you have any friends who you can bribe with favors, money, etc then ask them to help take care of you so that you don't go fucking bonkers.

Trust me, I got less than five hours of sleep every night for the entirety of my late teens and early twenties. The amount I got done and actually learned is surprisingly low. In the long term your more productive with more sleep, even if it doesn’t feel that way having to go to bed for seven hours like some kind of sleepfag. Sleep gags might have a truth to teach us all. It is a ritual death all must participate in once our father, the sun, has cyclically “died” and we must close our eyes as darkness descends on the sky.

The 'trick' here is that these guys paid full attention the first time it was taught and explained. Once you've committed yourself to fully understanding a concept you can logically put the pieces back together when necessary months or years down the road, without revision.

Yes, and calculus, although to which degree depends on the concept and formulas requiring derivation.
For example, performing a volume of revolution integration using r as the limits to obtain the formula for the volume of a sphere will hard code it into your brain - because it's no longer an arbitrary equality and you understand the foundations behind it.

felt like an absolut piece of shit afterwards but I guess it was worth it, I made a roadmap of the topics and did a quick overview to see how much time I would actually need for them and stuck to it like maniac. Got lucky with the questions as well. Biggest issue was not getting out of the home and being distracted, but focusing on the roadmap and keeping an overview how much work was still left allowed me to focus and get through it

No I generally never cram or study much. Few note cards and just writing notes on the section during the week we cover the material on my own time. Though I'm not studying bio.

at one point I started studying as soon as I woke up about 36-40 hours prior to the exam time and managed to cover everything I needed in that time.
If you manage to do that I think you should be able to barely pass 3 courses.
