Where are the flying cars? Where are the laser guns? Why aren't we exploring space and looking at colonising planets? Why don't we have actually sophisticated robots doing our menial work for us? Why haven't we cured cancer yet? Why do humans still only live for roughly 70/80 years average, and become decrepit and useless if they do live 100+? Why don't we have cyborgs and genetically modified babies etc?

Instead we basically just live in a perpetual neverending 2000s except with increasingly dystopian levels of surveillance, censorship and tech company power. We basically live in a sci-fi dystopia except with all the cool sci-fi shit removed, and somehow tech companies became super powerful but without developing any actual interesting tech. What the actual FUCK happened?
