How to view spectral lines at home. In quantum labs, we used a spectograph to look at the spectrum of sodium lamps. Shit was rad. I wanted to see if I could do something like this at home. Experimental setup is as shown in pic related. Sunlight is refracted through a quarts crystal I have. As expected a continuous distribution was observed. Not surprisingly I didnt see any spectral lines. I did have a magnifying glass put still did not observe anything. How can I see the spectral lines from the sun?
