>>12533182Personally I feel strongly that the universe must be cyclic, so that even if all humans voluntarily chose to not procreate (impossible for game theoretic reasons of course) eventually, (given we have forever) life will inevitably evolve the selfsame characteristics (self consciousness, deep empathy and associated capacity for great suffering) due to the infinitude of time (if not space, meaning things would only repeat to 99.99999 accuracy). it matters not how long such re-evolution would take, because we have forever, and the will is as fundamentally indestructible as matter itself - schopenhauer's dialogue with the "unchanging earth spirit" is what i refer to here. in fact, I can't see a way out of us all having been "here" many times before. so therefore if you accept that it is impossible to stop the emergence of intelligent life (over deep time) then abstaining from reproducing in the hopes of life going extinct forever is ultimately useless, and acceptance of our state as slaves to the fundamental, unchanging, immortal metaphysical will is crucial. taken in this worldview, it seems that antinatalists are just removing their higher than average pro-social, empathetic genes from humanity; quite a sad mistake to make. therefore the psychopaths, the infirm, the insane, and the low IQ, will spread their traits further yet. a toxic meme
