What thing did you prove to be true on a hunch only to find out it had been proven before?
Here are some of mine I can remember:

>General Taylor expansions via integration by parts and induction
>Induction method for positive rationals
>A set isn´t bounded if it cointains a function which isn´t bounded aswell
>My father never loved me
>The n-th integral of a function over a finite domain converges if the function is always less than 1 in said interval (I think, might've been something similar)
>Model of how traffic flows while noticing that car's almost never pass through a street alone, they are more likely to come in pairs or threes
