>The effects are slight, but significant, showing that the higher the blood lead level in childhood, the greater the loss of IQ points and occupational status in adulthood. The study appears Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

>Exposure to lead can also alter brain structure and function. At the behavioral level, exposure to lead has been observed to cause increases in impulsive actions and social aggression, as well as the possibility of developing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

>Despite the federal mandate to affirmatively further fair housing, the majority of federally assisted housing is clustered in low-income, segregated areas are at high risk of lead poisoning.

>Scientists have unveiled a correlation between high blood lead levels in children and methylation of genes involved in haem synthesis and carcinogenesis, indicating a previously unknown mechanism for lead poisoning

Boomers are aggressive and display lower levels of IQ because of the high amounts of lead used in gasoline and paint in the mid 20th century. Blacks are likewise susceptible to the same effects that come with lead poisoning because their communities are positioned in areas with high amounts of lead in the water supply. That said, lead exposure can also alter the human genome, which means that the children of lead exposed parents will have lower IQs on average. I think that environment plays a bigger role than we think it mediating disparities in success between whites and blacks.
