The cause isn't known but the leading hypothesis is
>>12528230 - localized "mini-seizures" which don't get the whole brain stuck in a feedback loop like an epileptic seizure but are still possibly harmful
Reuptake inhibitors and GABAergics in particular should always be carefully tapered
It really boggles my mind how it isn't common sense that you should always gradually taper off of drugs that you take for a long time - for many, you absolutely need to taper else you can risk serious harm or death. I see hundreds of threads about this on drug sites like every month from people who are so short-sighted they didn't even consider the possibility of withdrawal or the consequences of not tapering
And I don't have strong feelings about the guy one way or another but that hilariously somehow also includes Jordan Peterson. It's common knowledge long-term benzo use is the most dangerous thing to abruptly stop, and even if you don't know that, it's a Google search away. If you're going to take a substance that alters your brain, mind, and "soul" in a way, you should always Google it first.
But yeah, have fun with your sudden sharp jolts of pain and potential accumulation of distributed minor brain damage, OP
