Conservation of energy is a meme in our universe.
Photons constantly lose energy when travelling through space. That energy is forever lose.

There are also different solutions:
1. There exists an universe with a negative energy density that cancels out our positive energy density
2. The universe has a net-zero energy
3. Nature has unlimited energy available
4. The energy conservation law only applies to our universe (not that it really does) but not to something not contained within our universe
