Solving for side x. I used the law of cosines, which eventually led to solving a quadratic. Two roots, both positive. One of the roots (sqrt<2>) was listed as the correct answer, but the other root (2sqrt<2>) was omitted. Without the answer key, how would I have been able to determine which was correct?
