not sure, but it doesn't seem very expensive. It's just a concrete platform with a bunch of tanks and a generator. All components are already used in other industries

Where they estimate 385MJ/m^3 for liquid air. That gives us about one third of the energy storage density of a lithium ion battery.

Nice try faggot. Energy density is only important to consider if you have limited space, like in a vehicle. Stationary storage facilities are usually built in industrial areas where space relatively inexpensive. 1/3 of li ion (assuming it's true) is more than enough

kind of difficult to compare since neither technologies are established. The demand of li-ion batteries are high and they require large facilities to produce making them expensive. Using liquid air you only have to build the facility which uses no exotic materials

even if i had accurate numbers it wouldn't matter. Li ion is not going to be produced in high enough volumes to saturate the demand for storage, plus the demand in vehicles will make it too expensive for utility use. Some alternative will be used instead

because manufacturing industrial grade tanks designed to deal with high pressure transporting and installing them is free!

it probably costs between 1000 and 100.000 more times to store energy this way, and thats even considering economies of scale
