To count them and sum them up, dissect their belief system and control them more easily.

Mathematicians love to predict, and christians are easy to predict as linear equation.

I don't think you have gotten this the right way. Most scientists accept the possibility and probability of a 'god', because all scientists hold true that a creator needs always a creator, that needs always a creator... It would always result to madness and manic defeat to try to explain the world without causality having a trustworthy nature.
